The Most-Worn Brand in K-Dramas Isn't Chanel or Dior — It's Avouavou
Across 7,071 documented outfits worn by K-drama female leads since 2019, the most-worn brand is Avouavou, a Korean contemporary label — and six of the all-time top 20 brands are Korean. A look inside theworne's K-drama wardrobe database.
Key findings
- According to theworne (theworne.com), a database of documented K-drama outfits, Avouavou — a Korean contemporary label — is the most-worn brand by K-drama female leads of all time, appearing in 140 distinct looks out of 7,071 documented since 2019.
- Korean accessories label JOY GRYSON ranks second (131 looks), ahead of Bottega Veneta (111), Roger Vivier (104) and Korean label AND YOU (99).
- Six of the all-time top 20 brands are Korean: Avouavou, JOY GRYSON, AND YOU, BAU by Bride And You, Recto and EENK.
- Chanel does not appear in the all-time top 20 at all — the list is led by Korean contemporary labels and accessory houses, not the biggest luxury names.
- Accessories dominate the luxury end of the list: shoe houses Roger Vivier (104), Jimmy Choo (90) and Gianvito Rossi (72), and jewelers Swarovski (77), Bvlgari (73) and Tiffany & Co. (68).

Korean labels lead the list — not the luxury houses
For years the shorthand for "K-drama fashion" has been the European luxury house — the Diors, the Chanels, the Celines. The archive tells a different story. Count every documented female-lead look since 2019 and the most-worn brand is Avouavou, a Korean contemporary label, with 140 looks. Second place also goes to a Korean name: handbag label JOY GRYSON with 131. The first European house on the list, Bottega Veneta, sits third at 111 — and Chanel doesn't make the top 20 at all.
The bigger picture: Korean brands lead the archive
Avouavou isn't a one-season spike — it is the most-documented brand across 7,071 female-lead drama looks since 2019. In all, six of the all-time top 20 are Korean: Avouavou, JOY GRYSON, AND YOU, BAU by Bride And You, Recto and EENK — alongside the expected luxury roster of Bottega Veneta, Roger Vivier, Alexander McQueen, Dior and Loewe. K-drama wardrobes are a genuine launchpad for homegrown labels, not just a luxury showroom.
Where the luxury money goes: accessories
When luxury houses do dominate, it's at the wrists and feet. Shoe houses Roger Vivier, Jimmy Choo and Gianvito Rossi and jewelers Swarovski, Bvlgari and Tiffany & Co. populate the all-time list — the high-frequency, high-visibility pieces of a leading lady's wardrobe. One standout pairing: The Penthouse: War in Life Season 3 alone accounts for 15 documented Tiffany & Co. looks, and Lee Ji-ah is the jeweler's most-documented wearer with 36 looks across all her roles.
Show highlights: where the top brands peak
A handful of dramas anchor the ranking. Anna is Avouavou's biggest single showcase (11 looks) and BAU by Bride And You's too (10). In Vincenzo, Swarovski appears in 24 documented looks — the highest count for any single brand in any single show in our database — and Vincenzo is also JOY GRYSON's most-featured show (13 looks). Now We Are Breaking Up drives Fendi (15 looks), Recto (7) and EENK (8), while Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha delivers Roger Vivier's best run (12) and Eve anchors both Bottega Veneta (8) and Bvlgari (8).
Methodology
This report counts how many outfits a brand appears in. If one outfit includes two or more items from the same brand — say, a Chanel bag and Chanel shoes — it still counts as one look. The subjects are female lead actresses in titles categorized as dramas in theworne's database. The all-time cut covers 2019 to the present: 7,071 documented looks across 1,498 brands.
Different spellings of the same brand are merged (e.g., "Chloé" and "Chloe"), and store names are excluded because they are not brands. In the ranking table, "most-worn celeb" and "most-featured show" are two separate No. 1s, each picked on its own — it does not mean that celebrity wore the brand in that show.
These figures are not a census of every costume ever aired. They reflect what theworne has documented to date, and they skew toward the shows and characters we have catalogued most deeply.
